Yesterday (unlike today) was beautiful and windy, so Jacob, Charlotte, Karan and I went to Clyde Fant to fly a kite. Just as we got there, of course, the wind died down, but there were enough gusts to keep us occupied for quite a while, especially since Karan was willing to go for a bit of a run.
We took cameras, music, beverages, and (lots of) sunscreen and had a blast. It was a bit hot, and the sun was bright, but I was so grateful for some good, solid Spring weather.
Here’s the Flickr set. I’m soooo looking forward to Spring and Summer weather. Today might as well still be Winter.
Last night and today have been Round Two of Icepocalypse 2011. I noted last time that I wasn’t particularly impressed, and I wasn’t this time, either, though Round Two was a bit more successful.
This is what it looks like outside my apartment today:
I used Instagram because the original picture wasn’t all that interesting. I guess this one isn’t either. Nor is Icepocalypse 2.
This one beats the last one for one reason: the roads are worse. I, for one, didn’t want to drive in this icy sludge:
As far as I know, most, if not all, of Shreveport has power. Even The Internet is working. Charlotte and I went out today and survived, though the roads were slick in places.
Here’s what the cats did all day:
They’re on my electric blanket with the heat turned way up. I don’t think they’ve moved yet.
So, Icepocalypse, you’re gonna have to do lots more to impress me. I know you’ve repeatedly pounded the Midwest and the Northeast, and you even got Baton Rouge, but slippery roads aren’t enough to piss me off.
I finally understand Lyotard. My first thesis chapter would have been SO MUCH EASIER if I'd done the grunt work first.about 16 hours agofrom Tweetbot for iOS
